Hey there, how’s your social media campaign going? Have you checked in, lately, to see if your social media strategy is still working?

So, how do you know if your social media strategy isn’t working? Here are three telltale signs:

  1. You’re not getting as many new follows or likes as you used to
  2. No one is liking or sharing your posts
  3. Your posts aren’t driving traffic to your site

Now, what do you do about it? Reassess your audience. Over time, your followers may have changed, or their interests have changed. Depending on who your audience is you need to write posts that satisfies them… whether more technical or light and fun.

In both cases, make it more personal, even on LinkedIn. Brands take on personalities, your personality should shine through your brand. You can be vulnerable, here. We gravitate toward others’ pain and triumphs.

Promote or congratulate others. Share a story of overcoming adversity.

And don’t be afraid of being “lengthy.” People are reading your posts on Facebook and LinkedIn. The trend now is long form. We used to tell clients to write short social posts, but if you write a good story such as why you changed careers or how you’re able to achieve work-life balance, people will read it if it’s well-written and engaging.

In the end, don’t be afraid to experiment. Be real. Have fun! See you all on social.
