Crosstown Mechanical

The owner of Crosstown Mechanical came to us for consulting on the firm’s existing website. The site did not allow our client to update design or content in any significant way unless making a request of the site host/developer. Reviewing the website, we discovered that the site had missed several updates, making it outdated and less secure.

We recommended moving forward with a new site on a WordPress platform to add flexibility for updates and plug-ins. The original goal was to migrate most of the content to the new site and perform basic SEO and security updates.

Professional Services Lead Generation Strategies

As the owner explored his business plan, however, it became clearer that the new website needed to integrate with his lead generation and client experience strategies. The website receives high traffic and form submissions for HVAC services and rentals. The owner wanted to make sure that the new site could eventually incorporate a Client Center for automating the user experience for service, rental and maintenance requests.

This collaborative discussion resulted in a broader web map for the new site that we created and maximized with the owner.

The map included more services pages and an expanded About section to differentiate Crosstown Mechanical from competitors. Although most of the company’s team are union professionals, we also recommended that the company have a Careers page to promote the company culture and entry-level opportunities.

Brand Strategy Consulting Services

While developing the demo site, our graphic designer suggested an expanded color palette to align with the company’s primary colors and the site’s black & white, galvanized steel aesthetic. The owner also liked the updated favicon we suggested for the logo. He liked it so much that he decided to incorporate it across his visual branding.

Our brand strategy consulting included clarifying discussions about trademark and AI limitations with the refresh. This is important to balance the client’s expectations with risk management.

We delivered:

  • Site map, development and launch
  • Content migration, copywriting and site proofing
  • Image recommendations and design
  • AI consulting and FAQs development
  • Consulting on visual brand refresh
  • Logo favicon update
  • Brand style guide with updated color palette
  • Website training (for in-house updates)
  • SEO and analytics monitoring

One of our value-adds was developing a brand style guide for Crosstown Mechanical. It supports brand consistency internally and with a variety of vendors. The company had experienced brand erosion as vendors manipulated designs over time. Forwarding the style guide to vendors will support brand and color consistency, whether for logowear, signage or advertising. It will also help our team continue to support digital advertising and social media consulting.

Results

The site launched in Spring 2026. We continue to consult with Crosstown Mechanical on web analytics, SEO and digital advertising to promote brand awareness and integrate their digital lead generation strategies.

As the company continues to grow, the website will be flexible for additional updates. We are also consulting with the owner on content development through a blog for brand differentiation and search value.
