Remember your 20s? Are you still in them? We are!

We’re not getting older, we’re getting better! That’s why the team here at Ingenuity is celebrating our 20th anniversary in professional services with a renewed sense of excitement for the future.

Despite the major troubles of this world, we try to help where we can. We stay resilient and adapt. And gosh darn it, people like us! (Is that comment dating us?)

In honor of 20 for 2025, this anniversary edition of Great ThinkING gives you 20 ways to create little and big wins in your personal and professional life. These tips have certainly helped us move through many transitions in CPA firm marketing and branding over the years. We could have listed even more, but 20 fits the theme. So here we go!

  • What is going well today? Acknowledge it.
  • Inhale and exhale. Think of 20 things that make you happy.
  • Remove three things (or up to 20!) from your desk or desktop that aren’t necessary.
  • When you have a new client, ask how your work will help them.
  • Ask deeper questions. Show curiosity with your clients and coworkers.
  • Travel to the future. List the career or engagement outcomes you want.
  • Share your strengths. It’s ok to be the best at something to help others.
  • Own it. When a mistake happens, handle it and move on.
  • Take field trips. Go to the zoo, the museum or an axe-throwing bar!
  • Be brave. Speak up if a strategy doesn’t seem right.
  • Know your limits. Be aware of your need for a break or a check-up.
  • Build a network of trusted professionals who have your back.
  • Get the facts. Use multiple, credible sources to create your strategy.
  • Bring new ideas, technologies and processes into your firm.
  • It’s ok to miss colleagues who retire or leave for new things.
  • Beyond the job, see the people on your team and check in.
  • Yes, fight for your unique perspective to be heard and considered.
  • Not that kind of flexing…I mean flex to the circumstances as they arrive.
  • See the details. Quality is highly important in a sea of competition.
  • Embrace change. That’s all there is beyond the present moment!

Thank you for being a part of Ingenuity at any point in the last 20 years. Please share your own professional lessons with us. It’s always great to hear from you.
